Picture from the past

So guys at work where asking me what I was doing before computers. Well I was a boat designer. This is one of the last design I made that got produced before Sunray Boats when belly up and that I moved to the IT market instead.

Just sad the one i really want was still on paper.

It's more a cruiser that wasn't build for speed but for fuel economy and range.

Well there where a little economic downturn in the early 90 in Quebec, so most of the boat maker in Canada and US when bankrupt. So i was still very young and there where a lot others designers in my position, so it was practically impossible to stay in the same fields.

I couldn't really move easily too, so i picked what was available in the area.

Oddly enough it was micro code and assembly language programming on hardware !! geeky at the other range of the chart :-)

J'ai pas quitté par choix par contre. C'est le marché qui a énormément rétréci. Mais a l'époque j'aimais pas touts le temps. Drôle que c'est en rétrospective qu'on aime les choses parfois. Les délais qu'on avait pour inventer ses truc la était pas réaliste. Sinon c'était très passionnant, on a vraiment l'impression de réaliser et laisser quelques chose en arrière. C'est pas toujours l'impression qu'on a avec des logiciels.

Neat! I used to do computers and now I'm a pharmacist. As it happens people in the pharmacy field are even less well adjusted than IT folk...if I only knew beforehand :)
